Sciatica in Luxembourg
Sciatica manifests as radiating pain in the buttock or leg, sometimes down to the foot, due to compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve. Osteopathy acts on the mechanical causes of this compression for lasting relief.

What is sciatica?
The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the human body. It originates in the lumbar region, passes through the pelvis and runs down the leg to the foot. Compression, often related to a herniated disc, vertebral blockage, piriformis muscle tension or pelvic dysfunction, causes this characteristic pain that 'runs down' into the lower limb.
How can osteopathy help?
By working on the mobility of the pelvis, lumbar vertebrae and muscular structures (particularly the piriformis muscle, often involved), the osteopath seeks to release the compression on the nerve. The approach is global: it takes into account overall posture and compensations.
- ✓Relief of radiating pain in the leg
- ✓Release of lumbar and sacro-iliac blockages
- ✓Relaxation of the piriformis muscle and pelvic structures
- ✓Improvement of overall spinal mobility
- ✓Postural advice to prevent recurrence
When to consult?
As soon as the first radiating pain appears or in case of recurrence. If you experience significant tingling, muscle weakness or urinary disorders, consult your doctor.
